JWMS track takes 2nd in home quad
The James Williams Middle School track team came home second Monday, May 11 as it hosted a quadrangular track meet at Mike Webster Stadium. Both the Hodag boys and girls finished second behind winner John Muir (Wausau West) Middle School.
The Hodags girls scored five wins on Monday, four of which involved eighth-grader Olivia Eades. She won the 100-meter dash (13.28 seconds), and the triple jump (31 feet, 3 1/2 inches), and was on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Eva White finished second to Eades in the 100 (14.07), won the long jump (15-4) and was with Eades on the 4x100 and 4x400 squads. Scarlett Hartmann and Kelsie Skubal made up the rest of the winning quartet in the 4x100 (53.85) while Isabelle Gray and Amarae Cates rounded out the win in the 4x400 (4:25.53).
The Hodag boys had three wins on Monday, of which Hans Sommer was a part of three. Sommer won the 800-meter run (2:27.06), the pole vault (8-6) and was on the winning 4x400 relay with Jett Goffe, Tyson Fischer and Jayden Negron (4:09.25). Ryder Clark added a win for the Hodags in the discus (79-3).
Middle School girls’ soccer
The James Williams Middle School girls’ soccer teams took on D.C. Everest in front of Rhinelander High School Monday, May 11.
