Six Rhinelander High School students went to Green Bay for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference April 12-14.

Approximately 2,400 students attended the conference, each with the goal of making it to national competition in Anaheim, Calif.

Rhinelander students competed in various business-related events including Advertising and Entrepreneurship, all of which required taking a 100-question test, as well as presentation events such as Community Service Project.

Besides competing, students attended workshops, took tours of prominent Green Bay businesses, and met other students from across the state.

For each event, the top four places qualify as individuals or teams for Nationals. For Rhinelander, Josh Haselton, Sam Caselton and Kamden Kostrova took fith place in the Community Service Project.

Rhinelander was also recognized for its community service efforts based on the amount of time and number of members who have helped complete several projects throughout the year, especially Trick or Can, Fall Fest, Santa Letters and Jeans For Teens. For their efforts, Rhinelander placed third in Community Service.

The team of Haselton, Caselton and Kostrova earned a “bump” spot to have the opportunity to go to San Antonio, Texas from June 28-July 3 and compete against students from all 50 states.
