New businesses welcomed by Crescent plan commission
The May 6 meeting of the Crescent plan commission saw applications from two new businesses approved.
Aaron Panke and family’s application proposes growing and selling pumpkins and flowers, while Britteny Zettler’s permit application is to operate a massage studio and retail service business. Both will be recommended to the Crescent town board.
“It’s nice to have new businesses coming into our township,” commission chair Michael Pazdernik told the River News. “That shows there’s more interest going forward if this is what’s happening so soon in the spring, so that’s a good thing.
“It generates additional tax base, and it brings people to our township to see what a nice place it is.”
An administrative review permit application from Adam Robinson was also on the agenda. Robinson, owner of Precision Remodel & Construction, proposes to construct a shop or storage building for construction equipment and materials on a parcel fronting Highway 17. However, Robinson did not appear before the commission.
“Our feeling was, we’d send it on to the board next week with a ‘no decision’ and hopefully he’ll show up then,” said Pazdernik.
The Crescent town board will take up the applications on Wednesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. at Crescent town hall.
