Karen M. Moes

Karen M. Moes, 78, of Rhinelander, passed away on March 26 in Yuma Ariz.

Karen was born on August 13, 1947, in Rhinelander to Bernard J. Moes and Leona M. (Behn) Brown. She married Patrick Brown on July 1, 1967, in Rhinelander, where they made their home and raised their two sons, Shannon and Corey.

Karen dedicated her career to administrative hospital services, working in Rhinelander and later in Janesville. Following her retirement, she returned to her hometown of Rhinelander.

She was an avid and active golfer and a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Karen will be remembered for her love of family, her close friendships — especially with her cherished “DuWoop” sisters — and her enthusiasm for life.

Karen is survived by her son Shannon; her dear “DuWoop” sisters, Susan and Yvonne (Len); her brother Dean (Sandy); her granddaughter Cassie; her grandsons Ian and Aidan; and her great-grandchildren, Blakley, Rory, and Teddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gary and Bob; her husband, Pat; and her son, Corey.

Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home is assisting the family. A celebration of life will be held on June 6 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Pizza Haven, located at 5325 Lake Julia Road, Rhinelander, WI 54501.

Karen’s warmth, strength, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
