Three of the 10 members of the Rhinelander High School boys’ and girls’ swim team who earned Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (WISCA) All-State honors in the 2025-26 season attended the WISCA banquet in Hartford Sunday, May 3.
Pictured, from left to right, are Millie Gruett, Charlie Antonuk and Vivian Lamers.
Swimmers earned all-state honors by placing in the top six (including top three for first team honors) during the WIAA Division 2 state meet, or by exceeding pre-determined time standards set by WISCA.
Individually, Lamers (100-yard freestyle) and Heck (100 breaststroke) received first-team honors. The Hodags also were first-team all-state in the 200 medley relay (Kiley Pooch, Heck, Gruett, June Chiamulera) and the 400 freestyle relay (Lamers, Chiamulera, Heck, Rylee Mickevicius). Honorable mention went to Lamers in the 50 freestyle, Gruett in the 100 butterfly and the 200 freestyle relay team of Pooch, Mickevicius, Gruett and Lamers.
On the boys’ side, sophomore Dean Gillingham earned first team honors in the 100 breaststroke and honorable mention as part of the 200 medley relay, along with Antonuk, Judson O’Malley and Kellen O’Malley.
Additionally, Gruett and fellow senior Emma Houg received academic all-state honors from WISCA, which presents the award to seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, have been on their high school swim team for at least two years and have earned at least one varsity letter.
