New fire chief sworn in
Johnson’s wife, Amy, pins a new fire chief badge to her husband’s uniform during the ceremony. Johnson, with the department since 2009, was appointed as successor to Brian Tonnancour, who resigned in January and accepted a position with the Chippewa Falls fire department. “I don’t like a lot of glitz and glamor and attention for all of you who know me well but it means a lot to be sworn in as the chief,” Johnson told those present for the ceremony Wednesday.(Photo by Brian Jopek/Lakeland Times)
Rhinelander’s new fire chief, Adam “A.J.” Johnson, was officially sworn in Wednesday, April 29 by Rhinelander city clerk Austyn Zarda during a brief ceremony in the city council meeting room at Rhinelander city hall.
