Hodags’ Aubryn Clark named honorable mention All-State in Division 2
Rhinelander High School junior Aubryn Clark was one of 16 players statewide the receive honorable mention in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s All-State Division 2 team, announced Wednesday, March 18.
Clark, the Great Northern Conference player of the year, led the Hodags averaging 18.4 points per game and 3.8 assists per contest. She was second on the team with 5.0 rebounds a contest and set a program record with 79 3-pointers made during the course of the season.
Twelve players across the 80 teams in Division 2 earned all-state recognition, including three players the Hodags faced this year — Shawano’s Leah Nordin and the Rice Lake tandem of Adaline Sheplee and Addison Schmidt.
Clark was one of only two players in the GNC to earn honorable mention All-State by the WBCA. The other was Mosinee sophomore Paetyn Jirschele, who earned the honor in Division 3.
The Hodags went 16-11 this season and advanced to the sectional semifinals of the WIAA tournament for the first time since 2020 before bowing out to Nordin and the Shawano Hawks in a 50-47 defeat in Antigo.
