Candace “Candy” Amelia Day, 76, of the town of Pine Lake, passed away December 27, 2025, at Seasons of Life, in Woodruff.
She was born in Rhinelander, on August 18, 1949, to Charles and Stella (Bratton) Day. Candy was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1967 graduate of Rhinelander Union High School. She was employed at the Frito Lay chip plant. Candace later moved to Antigo where she was employed at County Market, Johnson Coil, and retired from Traditional Neon. She then moved back to Rhinelander living here for the past 10 years.
Candy enjoyed attending stock car races, camping, and putting together puzzles.
At the time of her death, she was survived by her daughter, Kim, and currently survived by her grandson, Jacob Maly, sisters, Betty, Audrey Shepherd of Rhinelander, Janet Piasecki of Oshkosh, Linda Knight of Arkansas, Mary Hollands of Rhinelander, Cheryl Mengel of Antigo, and Laurie Rasmussen of Antigo, and by one brother, Thomas Day of Mattoon. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Stella (Bratton) Day, grandson, Ryan Maly, sisters, Patricia Day and Barbara Littlefield, and by her brothers, William Nance, Raymond Day, and Eugene Day.
At Kim’s request, a celebration of life for her and her mom, Candy will be held on Saturday, June 27, from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Pelican Town Hall, located at 4093 County Road P, Rhinelander.
