Activities galore coming up at Demmer Library
The Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes is happy to share its programming for the upcoming week.
Been cooped up this winter? Do you want a reason to leave the house? The Demmer Library is hosting Soup and Social Hour Wednesday, March 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. Bring a pot of soup, some bread, or just yourself, and have a nice chat with community members.
Do you write poetry, short stories, novels, or children’s stories? Join your fellow writers on Thursday, March 19, at 1 p.m. in the Demmer Maple Room.
A social gathering for knitters, crocheters, and needle workers will take place on Monday, March 23, at 5 p.m. People can share their projects, tips, patterns, and enjoy the company of fellow crafters.
Books: The Other Channel book discussion group will discuss Switchboard Soldiers by Jennifer Chiaverini on Tuesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. You can join in person at the library or join online via Zoom. Email [email protected] to receive sign-in information if you don't receive it directly from the organizer. Everyone is welcome!
Want to keep your brain sharp this year? The Demmer is offering Scrabble drop-in play Thursday, March 26, at 1 p.m. Come to the Demmer Fireplace Area and play Scrabble with other community members.
Weekly Offerings:
• Story Hour is a free program for young children and their caregivers. Join in on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the Demmer Maple Room. Children will listen to stories, engage in music and movement, explore different art mediums and more.
• Have you started looking at your family tree and don’t know where to go next? Let the Three Lakes Genealogical Society help you. The group loves to assist new, novice, and expert family sleuths find more records and more answers to questions. They are offering active “office hours” in the local history room of the library where you can drop in and ask your questions on Thursdays, 2 to 4 p.m. Call the library for more details.
