YMCA to hold Day of Giving March 3

The YMCA of the Northwoods–Beck Family Y will host its first Day of Giving event on Tuesday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This one-day community-wide fundraising event will support the YMCA’s Membership For All program and ensure that everyone — regardless of income — has access to YMCA programs and services.

“Every gift made during our Day of Giving event stays right here in our community,” said Abbie Cline, Mission Advancement Director of the YMCA of the Northwoods. “These funds provide scholarships and program access that remove barriers for children, families, and individuals across our community.”

A community model built on shared support

The YMCA operates on a community-supported model. Individuals and families may choose to pay the full membership rate, which helps sustain operational costs and supports community programming. If the full membership rate presents a barrier to achieving health and wellness goals, individuals and families are encouraged to apply for assistance through the YMCA’s Membership For All program. Through a pre-approval process, membership rates are adjusted based on annual gross household income to ensure affordability.

When community members give, they make it possible for their neighbors to participate.

Impact in our community

Day of Giving donations will directly fund:

• Safe swim lessons that prevent drowning.

• After-school and summer enrichment programs.

• Families’ access to affordable childcare.

• Access to wellness programs and chronic disease prevention initiatives.

• Corporate wellness initiatives for local businesses.

• Reduced-cost memberships and programs for families and individuals facing financial hardship.

How to Participate

Community members can participate by:

• Donating online at www.northwoodsymca.org.

• Stopping by the YMCA in person on March 3.

• Sharing the campaign with friends and family on social media.

• Sharing how Membership For All has impacted their family.
