With hearts full of gratitude, sorrow and respect, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Georgia Ann Davis who took her final bow — unafraid and with an unbelievable fighting spirit surrounded by her loving sons, other family and friends on June 10, 2026, at the age of 73. Georgia was born on May 31, 1953, in Milwaukee to George E. and Elizabeth A. Davis. A woman of extraordinary strength and perseverance with a sense of pride, second to none.

Georgia was raised in Mercer and graduated from Mercer High School in 1971. Shortly after she moved to Rhinelander, was married and went on to raise her three sons enjoying many of the wonderful things the Northwoods of Wisconsin offered. She enjoyed snowmobiling and other activities with her family over the years. Later in life she relocated back to Mercer, where she was employed for many years at the local gas station on the corner of Hwy. 51 and Hwy. J. Every day she enjoyed seeing and talking with the town locals, who would happen to stop for their daily paper or bait for fishing. After many years she retired and relocated to the Marshfield area.

A woman of many talents, she spent much her free time in the sewing and crafting room, creating beautiful quilts and blankets and other things for those she knew and loved. Her dedication and spirit in creating joy for others with her efforts, was evident to all who knew her. She had a passion for music and was quite talented at playing many instruments and over the years, was never afraid to pick up an accordion to pop out an occasional polka if the occasion called for it. She was quick to be humbled and always an ear for anyone who needed one. Her fighting spirit and profound sense of self-awareness will be remembered by all who had the opportunity to be in her presence.

Georgia is survived by her loving children, Gregory Piasecki, Thomas (Julie) Piasecki, brothers Robert Davis, George Davis; sisters Sheila (Larry) Tody, Lisa (Ron) Benoit, Joyce Davis; uncle James (Judith) Sell, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and cousins who she loved. Preceding her in death are her father George E. Davis; mother Elizabeth A. (Sell) Davis; Brother James E. Davis: Sister Laura L. (Delaney) Beistle; Son Jeffrey J. Piasecki (2004); numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The visitation will take place on Friday, June 19, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with a ceremony honoring Georgia being held on Friday evening, at 6:30 p.m. all at the Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home in Rhinelander. Fr. Chris Kemp will officiate.

The graveside service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Mercer Cemetery located at 5041 Beachway Drive in Mercer. Please meet at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to leave an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com.
