Lori Ann Heise, 62, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, following a month of wonderful, constant and compassionate care. She was surrounded by those that loved her dearly, including family and her two best friends Byron Lee, who took such good care of her during her final months at home and Marlene Rudolph, who rarely missed a day visiting with Lori at the hospice house, making sure she was not alone and had everything she needed.
Lori always had a smile on her face as remembered by all those that she met. Her love of nature and plants and animals was evident as she planted flowers every year in front of her apartment building and tended to them throughout the summer. She also loved birds no matter what kind, always making sure the pigeons and mourning doves outside her window had food and water. She could be seen almost any time of year enjoying a bike ride throughout the city. She loved her kitty, Ian, who was her constant companion. Her latest passion was volunteering at the Nativity Thrift Store, where she had many special friends that meant a lot to her and became like family.
Lori was born on August 29, 1963, to Keith and Rita Heise, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brother John Heise, and both sets of grandparents, Hubert and Matilda Damask and August and Othelia Heise. Lori graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1981.
Lori is survived by her sister Cindy Kaechele, brother Jeffrey C Heise, brother-in-law David Kaechele, sisters-in-law Penny Varnava and Marge Heise and many beloved nieces and nephews and all their children. Lori is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lori’s family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers and support shown throughout her life. Again, we would especially like to thank all the nurses at the Seasons of Life Hospice House for their gentle and compassionate care of our cherished Sister.
