Hope L. Houg (Pratz)

Hope L. Houg (Pratz), of Piehl, died peacefully in her home on May 29, 2026 with her family and friends by her side.

Hope was born on August 22, 1977, in Sugar Camp. Hope was a devoted wife, mother, proud grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.

Hope married her devoted husband, Robert Houg, and together they built a life centered around family, love, and creating a welcoming home. She was the proud mother of Haley (Houg) Bonack (Sam Bonack), James Houg (Keyanna Houg), and Hannah Houg.

Nothing brought Hope more joy than her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren: Levi, Tucker, Flora, Mckenna, and Scout.

Hope had a true gift in the kitchen and was known by family and friends as a magician when it came to cooking. She also took tremendous pride in her beautiful flower gardens, where she spent countless hours creating beauty and peace around her home.

She is also survived by her sisters, Heidi Steigerwald of Brookfield, Hillary Dinkmeyer of Three Lakes, and Heather Pratz of Rhinelander.

Hope was preceded in death by her father Dennis “Doc” Pratz, her mother, Judy Pratz (Domaika), her brother’s, Jeffery and DJ Pratz, and her granddaughter Maggie Houg.

Hope is survived by her honorable friends Trina Spiehler and Carrie Strickland. Hope’s celebration of life will be held at a later date. Hope’s love, strength, and dedication to her family will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
