Lois E. Wetterau

Lois E. Wetterau, age 88 of Rhinelander was born into God’s Kingdom of Power on February 2, 1938, born into God’s Kingdom of Grace on February 27, 1938 and was born into God’s Kingdom of Glory July 17, 2026.

Lois was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Gertrude (Meier) and Raymond Meyer. She was grateful for her Christian parents and 12 years of Christian teachers. For 11 years she was employed as a Secretary in an International Division which created an interest in worldwide travel, her favorite being Israel where Jesus walked.

On July 18th, 1964 Lois married the love of her life, Ron Wetterau, and the Lord blessed them with nearly 48 years of marriage. In 1966 they moved to Rhinelander where they owned, developed and operated the Clear Lake Inn (Beachcomber) for 30 years. After retirement she enjoyed socializing at the Y and Sr. Center, the Packers and US travels. She was a loving Mother to her two boys but yet she cherished her victories over them at cards and other family games.

Lois was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. At Zion she was involved in various activities.

Lois is survived by her sons Jon (Patricia) Wetterau and James (Lori) Wetterau, her grandchildren Tatyana, Amber, Yuri, Aleksei and Katya, her niece Carol Ann Matthies, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ron on March 28, 2012.

Visitation for Lois will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 12:00 PM, all at the Carlson Funeral Home.
