Gregory E. Bethke

Gregory E. Bethke, age 83, of Rhinelander, died on July 14, 2026, in Rhinelander. He was born on September 25, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Gregory and Loretta (Packee) Bethke. He attended schools in Milwaukee and then Marquette University where he graduated with a degree in Engineering. He then went to work as a Civil Engineer for the Wisconsin DOT for over 42 years. Outside of his family and work, Greg’s pride and joy was his ZR1 - 635 hp - Corvette. He loved to golf and fish, especially for Muskies.

Greg married his wife Judy on June 14th, 2008 and the Lord blessed them with18 years of marriage. He and Judy were members of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.

Greg is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Melanie (Jason) Towner his son Gregory (Amber) Bethke, his grandchildren Hudson and Norah Bethke and Greyson and Dylan Towner, his great grandchild Colt Bethke, his sister Jeanne (John) Burkhardt, his stepchildren Nikki, Mou and Andrea and his special friends Ben Marquardt and Deborah Pueschner. 

Visitation for Greg will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM, all at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Father Jerome D’Souza will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. A complete notice will follow shortly.
