Quentin W. Milz, age 88, of Rhinelander passed peacefully on July 8, 2026 in veteran’s hospice care at Nu Roc Health & Rehabilitation Center in Laona, Wisconsin. He was born on March 28th, 1938 in Sheboygan to William and Roma (Marold) Milz.

Quentin’s surviving family include his wife of 63 years, Jean (Blevons) Milz, and their children, Dr. Michael (Amy) Milz and Monica (Thomas) Trudeau, and their grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as “Pop Pop,” Abigail (Luke) Schroeder, Emily (Colten) Pace, Marissa Trudeau, and Ava Trudeau.

Quentin served in the U.S. Army, and during his years of service saw more of the world, but always said that nowhere was as beautiful as Wisconsin. He took pride in caring for his land, and enjoyed spending time outside, regardless of the activity, especially with the family and friends he cared for so very much. Quentin valued his church and faith, and was honored to serve at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church alongside his wife, friends, and community.

Quentin enjoyed trapshooting as a part of the Koenig’s Conservation Club, and cherished quality time spent with his son, Mike, muskie fishing, biking, and enjoying the outdoors together. He treasured talking to his daughter, Monica, about her life in California and his beloved grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting with them as often as they could. Monica and Mike recall many fond memories from their childhood, frequenting the library, camping, fishing, and exploring the outdoors as a family. Quentin was a present and loving father, imparting in his children an appreciation for learning and reading, an admiration of nature, and a strong sense of gratitude for every day and every joy God grants us.

Quentin has been preceded in death by his parents, William and Roma (Marold) Milz, and his three sisters, Virgil, Verda, and Merlet.

Visitation for Quentin will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. with Memorial Services following at 11 a.m., all at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend Morgan Simmons will be officiating. Interment will be in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery. You may leave your private condolences for the Milz family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home (715-369-1414) is serving the Milz family.
