John Daniel Dinga

John Daniel Dinga, 75, of Woodruff, passed away on July 7, 2026, in his home, surrounded by family.

Born November 18, 1950 in Madison to John and Fern Dinga, he graduated from LaFollette High School in 1968 and worked 30 years at Oscar Mayer.

On January 10, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart Nancy Stiegman; they celebrated 46 years together this June.

John was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter, and fisherman who was active in Cottage Grove softball in the 1980s. 

He loved driving out west with family, fire pit nights, reconnecting with friends, and especially family gatherings. 

He faced cancer with strength and humor, always ready with a joke.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by wife Nancy (“Nanc”); children Kim (Steve) Motelet, Mike (Jennifer) Dinga, Lindsey (Tyler) Hendrickson, Dan (Brenda) Dinga; grandchildren Hunter, Alex, Greyson; siblings Ruth Ann (Orville) Kerl, Sue (Mike) Alt, Ron (Lori) Dinga, Gary (Holly) Dinga; aunt Ruth Ann Dinga (widow of Jerry); and many extended family and friends.

Memorial donations appreciated for continued care of daughter Kim. Family requests Wisconsin sports or outdoor attire for services.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at Nimsgern Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. and there will also be a visitation on Thursday, July 16, 10 to 11:30 a.m. with service at 11:30 a.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home, Monona. Burial at Highland Memory Gardens, Madison, followed by luncheon 1 to 3 p.m. at Double Days, Cottage Grove.
