David Wesley Skinner

David Wesley Skinner, 60, of Fifield, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was born on December 27, 1965, in Rhinelander.

David spent his career as a heavy equipment operator and had a lifelong appreciation for Chevy trucks, John Deere tractors, and all things mechanical.

David found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved the beauty of the Northwoods where he felt at peace among the trees and nature. He loved spending time in the forest, cheering on his favorite NASCAR, or just simply driving his boat down the river. 

Although Dave faced difficult struggles, those challenges did not define the man he was and he will be remembered for the memories he created with all that knew and loved him. His family hopes that in honoring his memory, others will be inspired to reach out for help, offer kindness and support to those that may be struggling. 

He is survived by his wife, children, step-children and many other family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to organizations dedicated to suicide prevention or forest preservation in David’s memory.
