RIA hosts Peewee B tournament
The Rhinelander Ice Association’s Peewee B hockey team hosted a tournament Jan. 23-25 at the Rhinelander Ice Arena. The Hodags finished fourth in their pool. Rhinelander defeated Shawano 3-2 on Jan. 23, lost to New Richmond 13-0 Jan. 24 and to Milwaukee Winter 8-5 Jan. 25.

RBA 5th, 6th grade boys play at home
The Rhinelander Basketball Association’s fifth- and sixth-grade boys hoisted a tournament at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium Saturday, Jan. 24. Both the fourth/fifth and sixth-grade squads came away with 2-1 records on the day, finishing fourth and third in their pools, respectively.

JWMS wrestlers compete at home
The James Williams Middle School wrestling team hosted a six-team Central Wisconsin Wrestling Conference meet Monday, Jan. 26 at the JWMS gymnasium. The Hodags took third in the meet with 17 wrestlers competing.
Gage Dantoin went 3-0 on the night, leading the Hodags. Saorise Cichy, Korbin Skubal, Stanley White and Jayden Negron all went 2-1 on the evening. Noah Gonzalez, Maximus Krueger, Wesson Kempken, Shawn Humiston, Waylon Wills and Adam Humiston also recorded victories.
