Trinity Lutheran’s Children’s Offering donates to Rhinelander Area Food Pantry
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) received a $1,786 donation for its Hodag Monster Meals program through Trinity Lutheran Church’s Children’s Offering, according to a press release.
The offering is a portion of the service in which children bring forward donations, often receiving additional contributions from other worshippers as they walk to the front. Trinity designates the offering each month to a ministry that directly supports children, and 100 percent of the funds are distributed off-site. Hodag Monster Meals was the December recipient.
Courtney Smith, RAFP executive director, expressed appreciation for the support.
“Thank you for empowering Trinity’s young people to help fight hunger and for supporting RAFP’s mission to nourish our community! We appreciate Trinity’s long-standing commitment to building food security in our community and supporting RAFP,” she said in the release.
Trinity leaders also thanked the congregation for its generosity and noted the ongoing partnership with RAFP in efforts to address hunger locally.
