Fisheries management in Ceded Territories topic of Feb. 12 meeting

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) are holding a public meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 12.

The six Wisconsin Ojibwe tribes and the DNR have worked in a partnership to conserve and manage fisheries in the Ceded Territory. This meeting will inform the public about management of both walleye and muskellunge in the Ceded Territory as well as answer some common questions about hook-and-line as well as tribal harvest. 

Both in-person and virtual options are available for the meeting. Those who wish to attend in person can do so at either the Rhinelander DNR Service Center at 107 Sutliff Avenue, or the Spooner DNR Service Center at 810 Maple Street.
