A Sugar Camp man was arrested on Jan. 21 for allegedly possessing child pornography.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Christian Bishop, 27, after receiving a tipline report by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on May 22, 2025.
On Jan. 14, investigators reviewed multiple files recovered from Bishop, one named “Kik sh—” and another named “13-14,” including three pornographic videos and a photo depicting what appeared to be children well under the age of 18.
On Jan. 21, law enforcement executed a search warrant around 9:30 a.m. of Bishop’s home address, 5622 South Jennie Webber Lake Road, where Bishop was said to live in the basement. His parents shared the address with him.
After being placed in custody of the sheriff’s office, Bishop spoke with investigators outside his home.
According to the draft supplemental report filed by detective sergeant Brian Barbour, Bishop admitted to knowing files within a “Dropbox account” contained images Bishop described as girls 15 or 16 years old.
He told investigators, according to the report, he downloaded those pictures 10 years prior because he “had wanted to view media of girls closer to Christian’s own age.”
Bishop told investigators he “was generally attracted to females 24-27” and “not attracted to under aged females.”
Bishop is currently being charged in Oneida County Court with two counts of possessing child pornography, a class D felony. An adjourned initial appearance for Bishop is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 9 in front of judge Mary Sowinski.
A class D felony in Wisconsin carries maximum penalties of a fine not to exceed $100,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 25 years, or both.
