Carrie A. Rasmussen (Steinmetz), 58, of Rhinelander, died at home on January 21, 2026. She was born November 10, 1967, in Rhinelander to Peter and Marion (Cook) Steinmetz. Carrie attended schools in Rhinelander. She was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander who was known and loved by many.
Carrie had a real love for the word of God, her family, helping others, camping, cooking, gardening, and attending the Lifest Christian Music Festival. She was a longtime member of the Northern Lights Church of God and enjoyed worshiping and volunteering with her fellow congregation to spread the word of God.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Roy; her children, Heather (Dustin) Struck and Matthew Steinmetz both of Rhinelander; stepchildren, Jonathan Rasmussen and Ian Rasmussen both of Rhinelander; her grandchildren, Eric, Alexandria, Vienna, Hunter, and LuElla; her sisters, Phyllis (Terry) Helgeson of Rhinelander, Linda (Pat) Fochs of Schofield, Mary (Grant) Johnson of Minocqua, Sharon Brooks of Rhinelander, and Janette Steinmetz of Rhinelander; her brothers, Michael Steinmetz of Rhinelander, Peter Steinmetz III of Billings, Mont., and Jeffrey (Patsy) Steinmetz of Rhinelander; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Alan Steinmetz and James Steinmetz.
Carrie often spoke highly of her family and enjoyed spending time with her siblings. When she wasn’t spending time with her grandchildren Vienna, Hunter, and LuElla and her great-nephew Jackson she could be found enjoying time with her lifelong best friend and niece, Jessica.
A memorial service for Carrie will be held at the Carlson Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 31 at noon with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Bishop Steve Price will be officiating.
