Two injured in collision on State Highway 47 near Rhinelander
Two people were injured on Jan. 19 in a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 47 near the intersection of County Highway K in Crescent.
The accident investigation itself is being done by the Wisconsin State Patrol but according to the incident report from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office a call was received by the dispatch center at 9:17 a.m. and involved were a 2017 Lincoln MKX sport utility vehicle driven by Douglas Rathbun, 91, Rhinelander, and a 22-passenger 2023 Collins school bus on a Chevrolet chassis driven by Margene Wagler, 62, Rhinelander.
There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision.
Wagler was uninjured but Rathbun and his wife, Jacqueline, 88, were taken by ambulance to the hospital for head, neck and back injuries.
