Prince and The Peach is an Indie/Americana band based in Sugar Camp and founded by longtime collaborators Robert Mesun and Suzanne Johnson. The duo has been performing together since 1996, playing in various bands, exploring a wide range of musical genres, and developing a strong creative partnership. In 2018, they shifted their focus exclusively to original music, resulting in their debut full-length album, “The Ghost of Me,” released in fall 2020. When the pandemic forced venues to close, Prince and The Peach continued to create, releasing a self-titled EP in fall 2022
In late 2024, the band reunited with Adam Johnson, an original member and longtime collaborator from their cover band, The Chillbillys.
Prince and The Peach have earned significant recognition from the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) awards. In 2023, they were nominated for New Band of the Year, and their song “I Wish You Enough” was a finalist for Folk Song of the Year. In 2025, they received multiple WAMI nominations, including Album of the Year (Folk Category) for “Brighter Days,” Male Vocalist (Robert Mesun), Female Vocalist (Suzanne Johnson), Performer of the Year (Folk Americana), and Album Artwork. Most recently, the band was once again nominated for Band of the Year (Folk) for the 2026 WAMI Awards, with both Mesun and Johnson also earning nominations for Vocalist of the Year.
