Deanna Crawford

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Deanna Crawford, 60, of Lincolnshire, Ill. on January 12, 2026. After a lengthy and courageous eight-year battle with breast cancer. Deanna spent her final moments surrounded by her loving family at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff.

Born on September 30, 1965, in Highland Park, Ill., Deanna was known for her sense of adventure, creativity, and passion for exploring every corner of our beautiful nation. A life-long learner, she graduated from Northern Illinois University and dedicated her life to shaping countless young minds as a special education teacher at Zion School District. Deanna cherished time with family, geocaching with friends, reading, and trekking across the country with her beloved canine sidekick Ava.

Deanna is survived by her parents, Michael and Trudy Komos; children, Robert (Michaela), Dean, and Michael; sister Maria Reichert (Bill); nephew Will and niece Mariam. A celebration of life to honor Deanna will be held at a future date.
