Quiz Bowl Champs

The Hodag squad defeated Northland Pines 5-2 in the championship round, winning $150 to be split between the four team members. Both Rhinelander and Northland Pines will advance to the FICB state tournament later this spring. Nineteen Rhinelander students participated in the event, which is statewide college bowl quiz competition that supports teachers of Personal Finance and Economics and increases financial literacy for the students who compete. Teams from Northland Pines, Three Lakes, Crandon and Laona/Wabeno were also scheduled to attend. The event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 7, but postponed a day due to icy road conditions that prompted the cancellation of classes for the School District of Rhinelander.
