Activities to lose the winter blues at the Rhinelander District Library
The Rhinelander District Library has activities this month for those looking to have some fun, tax their brains, and learn new things.
All-Ages Chess Club
The All-Ages Chess Club will be returning to the library for 2026. The club is open to all ages and experience levels. Chess sets are provided and all are welcome to come and find a game or learn how to play. The Chess Club normally meets on the third Saturday of each month, but participants should check the date each month to be sure. The January meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 17 in the library meeting room.
Winter Pinecone Centerpiece
Join the Rhinelander District Library for a fun winter crafting experience. All items needed to create a stunning winter pinecone centerpiece will be provided to participants. Registration opens on Jan. 8 and is limited to 12 people. See the website for more information. The class will run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22.
Sound Bath with Michele Baumgartner
Sound therapy can synchronize brain waves for relaxation and inner piece, the perfect reset after a busy holiday season. The sounds from the sound bath will help to balance the mind, body and spirit. Participants are welcome to use the flexible seating available or to bring their own materials on which to lie down. Registration begins Thursday, Jan. 15 and is limited to 20 people. The program is open to teens and adults, but those with pacemakers or metal in their bodies should not attend. The class will run from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 in the library meeting room.
All library events are free and open to the public. For more information call the Rhinelander District Library at 71-365-1070 or see the website www.rhinelanderlibrary.org.
