Louise M. Stroede, 87, of Rhinelander, died on December 28, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 20, 1938, the daughter of John and Freda (Schoepke) Collier. Louise grew up in Monico and attended schools in Three Lakes graduating from the Three Lakes High School in 1956. She married the love of her life Charles “Chuck” Stroede on September 28, 1963 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2016.
Louise held a couple of jobs during her lifetime and then volunteered her time at the hospital gift shop and the logging museum. She was a longtime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Louise liked to have fun. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in the ladies league and the mixed couples league. She liked to travel, listen to country music and polkas and taking care of her flowers. Most of all she loved being a mom, grandma, and great grandma.
Louise is survived by her daughters Jeannine Stroede, Lisa (Chris) Mau and Amy Stroede, her four grandchildren Brittany Heynen, Brandon Bruyette, Tyler (Grace) Mau and Ryan Mau, her great-granddaughter Raegan, her sisters Joyce Bishop, Lois (Larry) Russ, Susan Yonker and Linda (Ed) Choinski, her brother William (Patricia) Collier and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Stroede was held on Saturday, Jan. 3, with funeral services, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Her grandson, Pastor Tyler Mau, officiated.
