RHS Sports recap: Saturday, Jan. 3
Gymnastics: Rhinelander 5th/7, Wis. Rapids Invite
The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team posted a score of 120.05 points and finished fifth out of seven teams in the Charlie Martin Invite in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday.
Emeline Hintz led the Hodags, taking 12th in the all-around with a 30.775. Addison Fish was 14th (30.275) and Marsadies Williams finished 16th (28.925). Alexis Smith had Rhinelander’s top event finish, taking eighth on vault (8.6).
The Hodags are back in action Tuesday when they host Ashland in a GNC Small dual meet.
Girls’ wrestling: Rhinelander 20th/29, Shiocton Invite
The Rhinelander High School girls’ wrestling team came home 20th Saturday in the 29-team Clausen Classic in Shiocton.
Cassidy Lindner was the top finishing Hodag on the day. She went 4-1 and finished third in the 120-pound bracket. Skylar Leitl was seventh at 152 pounds, Katie Hazelton and Miranda Daab were eighth at 126 and 235, respectively.
The Hodag girls are back in action Tuesday, in the second GNC/WVC Challenge night at D.C. Everest.
