Boys’ hockey: Pacelli 9, Rhinelander 3

Pacelli took advantage of Rhinelander penalties on Friday, scoring four times on the power play to defeat the Hodags 9-3 in Stevens Point. 

The Hodags trailed 3-2 late in the second period when they were assessed a five-minute major. Pacelli scored three times on the power play to take a 6-2 lead after two periods and added three more goals in the third. 

Asher Rivord scored twice in the contest while Dylan Shefveland added. Goal for the Hodags, who were penalized 10 times for 31 minutes in the contest. Rhinelander outshot Pacelli 42-40. Connor McGee made 31 saves in the game.

Rhinelander (0-11-0, 0-4-0-0 Great Northern) hosts Mosinee on Tuesday.
