In the freezing drizzle Wednesday morning, an Argonne woman sustained injuries when her vehicle rolled over, landing upside-down in a ditch on U.S. Highway 8 in Pelican.

Nikki Adams, 38, was traveling west when she lost control of her 2022 Toyota Prius near Beaver Creek Road on Hwy. 8’s slushy surface. Oneida County deputies, the Pelican fire department, and Oneida County ambulance Medic One responded, and were able to free Adams after finding her upside-down, restrained by her seat belt and the deployed airbag.

Adams was transported to Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital with suspected minor injuries, and the westbound lane was closed for about 45 minutes for her damaged vehicle to be removed.
