Rhinelander Library book fund marks 40 years as annual drive nears end
The Rhinelander District Library Foundation (RDLF) is approaching the end-date of their annual book fundraiser. The non-profit aims to raise $20,000 by the end of February 2026. The fund, which provides one third of the Rhinelander District Library’s new books every year, is celebrating its 40th year.
In 1985, Ced Vig’s vision was to purchase new, hard-cover books each year for all sections of the library, including adult, young adult, and the children’s departments. RDLF continues Vig’s mission through this annual fundraiser.
According to Denise Chojnacki, the Children’s Services Manager in a press release: “We are so grateful for the Holiday Book Fund that enables us to purchase quality, hard-cover books we might not otherwise be able to afford. The monies keep our collection up-to-date as those are the most expensive books for purchase.”
To honor Ced Vig and his mission, the foundation asks you to consider making a contribution today. Checks can be made out to RDLF Book Fund and sent to PO Box 1225 in Rhinelander. Cash contributions can be dropped off at the front desk of the library. The PayPal donation link can be found at www.rdlfoundation.org.
