A Baraboo man was arrested in Three Lakes last Monday night for a 4th OWI offense and obstructing an officer.
Kendall J. Meyer, 56, was charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence-4th offense, a class H felony, and one count of resisting or obstructing an officer, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the officer’s report that accompanied the criminal complaint, a traffic stop was made due to a defective tail light on Meyer’s vehicle. Meyer allegedly misspelled his last name, claimed to not have identification but later produced it, and prevented a portion of the standard field sobriety testing from being completed.
If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $10,000, or jail time of up to six years, or both, for the first count, plus a fine of up to $600 and at least 60 days in jail for this being his fourth offense. For the second count, he may be fined up to $10,000, or imprisoned up to nine months, or both, if convicted.
A signature bond of $3,000 and a court date of April 7 were set.
