Boys’ hockey: Northland Pines 10, Rhinelander 2
The season ended for the Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team Thursday night with a 10-2 loss to top-seeded Northland Pines in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs in Eagle River.
The Eagles led 4-1 after a period, 8-2 after two periods and tacked on two more goals in the third. Josh Gravesscored four times for the Eagles and added an assist. Drake Nelson scored both of Rhinelander’s goals.
The Eagles outshot the Hodags 43-16 in the contest. Connor McGee made 33 saves in defeat.
Rhinelander finishes with a 1-23-0 record.
