RHS Sports recap: Thursday, Feb. 5
Boys’ hockey: Kingsford, Mich. 9, Rhinelander 2
The Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team dropped its final road game of the regular season Thursday night, losing at Kingsford, Mich. 9-2.
The Flivvers score three times in all three periods. Kadin Rodziczak had both of Rhinelander’s tallies, scoring early in both the second and third periods.
Kingsford outshot Rhinelander 47-20 in the game. Connor McGee made 38 saves in defeat.
Rhinelander (1-20-0, 1-9-0-0 Great Northern) hosts Shawano/Bonduel this coming Tuesday.
Gymnastics: Rhinelander 119.9, Lakeland/Northland Pines 112.875
The Rhineladner High School gymnastics team won every event on Thursday night as it defeated Lakeland/Northland Pines 119.9-112.875 in a GNC Small dual meet in Minocqua.
Emeline Hintz placed in the top three in every event, wining uneven bars (7.65) and balance beam (7.8) as she claimed the individual all-around (31.775) for Rhinelander. Alexis Smith won the floor exercise (8.4) and tied for first on vault (8.4). She finished fifth in the all-around.
Addison Fish was third in the all-around, highlighted by a runner-up finish on balance beam. Marsadies Williams took second on uneven bars and was fourth in the all-around.
The Hodags (3-0 GNC Small) are back in action Saturday at the Marshfield Invite.
