Ronald P. Johnson

Ronald P. Johnson, age 73, of Rhinelander, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2026, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.

Ronald was born on February 16, 1953, in Washburn, Wisconsin, the son of Robert “Bumps” and June (Stauffer) Johnson.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Terri (Osterman); his daughters, Mollie Burkhardt and Suzanne (Josh)Johnson; his sons, Peter (Jill) Johnson and Adam (Amy) Johnson; his grandchildren, Miles, Madelyn, Abigale, Connor, and Aleece; his brother, Richard(Sandy) Johnson; and sister-in-law Amy Johnson, as well as other family members Barb (Dave) Fus, Patty Cahak, Jane Bayerl, Kathy(Norm) Mesun, Steve(Peggy) Osterman, Susie (Moose) Johnson, Tom (Brenda) Osterman, Laurie (Dean) Fischer, along with many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Robert, Raymond, and Randy. In-laws Bob and Minerva Osterman and Brother-in-law Dennis Osterman.)

If you knew Ron, you knew he loved golf, playing with special friends and family. Back in the day you could find him at Pioneer Park playing fast pitch for Pabst Blue Ribbon. His little piece of heaven, Bedlam Beach, is where he enjoyed time with family and friends, deer hunting, and many other outdoor activities. He was active in coaching several Hodag sports and enjoyed watching all sporting events, especially the Badgers and Packers. He was always the first to lend a hand to people in need, family and friends alike. Ron loved his family more than anything, “More than you’ll ever know” He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Never missing many of their activities, Ron always wanted his family to know they were the most important. Ron also enjoyed playing cards and winning at every single raffle he has ever bought tickets for. Horseshoe. He was always good for a quick whitted joke and unmatched storytelling, Ron could always boom, boom, boom his way through a conversation. Ron had many talents and accolades yet he was never one to boast and was always humble. He did and could fix anything with duct tape.

A remembrance of life will be held at Pines Event Center (www.pineseventcenter.com) on Monday, August 31, 2026, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon, a short service at noon and a luncheon to follow. A memorial is being established in Ron’s name and any gifts may be directed to his family. You may also leave your private condolences for the Johnson family at www.carlsonfh.com.
