William C. Saal

November 3, 1949 - August 14, 2026 

Committed to his passion for carpentry work and many years of serving the Arbor Vitae Fire Department died peacefully at his home on August 14, 2026.

Bill was born in Rhinelander to Lambert and Betty (Londo) Saal. At the age of 19 he married his wife Diane (Zeinert) of 57 years where shortly after they had established their home in Arbor Vitae and have resided for the past 56 years.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Diane; his children, Tracy Schmitz and Cory (Kelly) Saal; his grandchildren Brady (Anya)Schmitz, Karli Schmitz, Trisha McCullough, Hillary Saal, Jack Saal; three great-grandchildren; brothers Glen (Sandy), Larry, Dale, Bob (Irene), Rick (Patty), Dan, Ed (Linda); brother in law Pat Rausch; sister in law Cindy Zeinert; several nieces and nephews.Bill is preceded in life by his parents; his inlaws; three sisters, Judy Rausch, Carol Saal, Norine Saal; two brother in laws, LeRoy Zeinert Jr, James Zeinert; and son in law Greg Schmitz.

Bill is known for his local business Lakeland Saw and Tool Sharpening of 38 years, managing of Woodland Beach Resort for 20 years, and devoting 33 years to fire inspections throughout seven townships.

A celebration of life will be held on August 21, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff at 10 a.m. with mass at 11 a.m.
