Rhinelander teams finish strong at Wisconsin State USBC Youth Championships

Alsager takes first in boys scratch singles, second in boys scratch all events

The 2026 Wisconsin State USBC Youth Championships concluded Sunday, April 12 following two months of competition in the Milwaukee area.

Three Rhinelander junior league teams, made up of 11 bowlers, traveled to the tournament in late February. Several competitors posted strong performances and maintained their positions through the end of the event.

Oren Alsager led the way for Rhinelander, competing in the boys scratch division in both singles and all-events. The Three Lakes junior captured the state title in singles, finishing first out of 143 bowlers with a score of 771. He also placed second in all events out of 132 bowlers with a total of 2,145.

In the boys 161-190 average singles division, Rhinelander High School senior Dom Hakala finished 47th out of 335 bowlers with a 672 series.

On the girls side, Elcho junior Alyssa Habeck placed eighth out of 154 bowlers in the 131-160 average singles division with a score of 600. Natalie Dellenbach followed in 11th place with 586.

In the same division’s all-events standings, Habeck placed 15th out of 149 bowlers with 1,667, while Dellenbach finished 31st with 1,603. Charlotte Preuss added a 38th-place finish with 1,594.

In doubles competition, the duo of Alsager and Habeck placed 47th out of 173 teams in the Class 1 (331–380 average) division with a score of 1,234.

Team competition saw Rhinelander 2 — Dom Hakala, Jackson Fuss, Eli Miller and Charlie Duquaine — place 13th out of 87 teams in the 641–720 average division with a score of 2,350. Rhinelander 1 — Alsager, Habeck, Dellenbach and Preuss — finished 27th in the same division with 2,282.
