Reader displeased with newspaper’s Sunshine grades for Trump, Tiffany

To the Editor:

It seemed it had to be an April Fool’s joke, but no. The River News actually gave Donald Trump and Tom Tiffany A plus for their performance in office. Let’s just address President Trump’s performance. He has destroyed world-wide alliances with other countries, as well as any further trust in the U.S., has accumulated untold personal wealth while in public office and violated any other laws of his choice, including the recent threat to annihilate the people of Iran, an actual war crime. He has cut medical cancer research, reversed critical efforts for climate control, done untold damage to the health of populations world-wide by cutting USAID, which includes aid such as polio vaccinations for millions of children, among other critical aid such as food, and so much more for the welfare of millions of people in need. 

These are some of his personal qualities, which you gave a glowing grade: vindictiveness, narcissism, inability to tell the truth, and delusional thinking, lack of empathy for others. This is only a short list, but surely these are not the qualities most Americans admire or the qualities they would pick in choosing friends or electing people to public offices.

You should be ashamed.
