Outdoor burning within Rhinelander suspended until further notice
Citing a lack of rainfall, high winds, and limited green vegetation, the city of Rhinelander on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, suspended all outdoor burning within the city until further notice.
“This precautionary measure is necessary to reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires and to protect public safety and property,” the notice from Rhinelander fire chief A.J. Johnson stated. “Residents are urged to comply with this suspension and to exercise caution with any potential fire hazards.”
An update was promised when conditions change.
