Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin has announced the appointment of Chelsea Pooley as the new manager of the Rhinelander ReStore.
Following the retirement of longtime manager Dennis Shimek, Pooley steps into the role to oversee the “engine” that powers the organization’s mission of building affordable housing.
Pooley brings an extensive background in resale and a deep commitment to community impact.
“I’ve always believed there’s something special about giving items a second life,” Pooley shared. “Habitat takes that further by turning everyday donations into opportunities that build safe, stable homes for families.”
Since relocating to Rhinelander in June 2025, Pooley has embraced the Northwoods lifestyle. A self-described “animal lover” with a household of seven pets — including three cats and two dogs — she is eager to deepen her connection to the area. Beyond the ReStore aisles, she enjoys baking, thrifting, and staying active with her family.
As manager, her focus is on growing community partnerships and supporting the dedicated volunteers who keep the shop running.
“Every donation and every purchase plays a part in supporting local families,” she noted.
The community is invited to visit the ReStore to meet Pooley, browse the ever-changing inventory, or learn more about donation opportunities. Her energy and fresh vision ensure that the ReStore will continue to be a cornerstone of sustainability and hope for the Northwoods.
About Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin:
Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin was incorporated in 1997 and completed its first home build in 1998. Its three main service areas are the communities surrounding Eagle River, Rhinelander and Woodruff in Oneida and Vilas counties. In order to fulfill its mission to build homes, communities and hope, it has built close to 30 homes in Arbor Vitae, Eagle River, Hazelhurst, Lac du Flambeau, Land O’ Lakes, Minocqua, Phelps, Rhinelander and St. Germain. It also has a home repair program that has served people living in their own homes throughout Oneida and Vilas counties.
Economic growth starts with a home. Not just because homebuilding is a core part of the global economy, but because a safe, affordable home allows us all to be independent, find and keep stable work, grow wealth, and plan for the future.
