Thomas M. Vandenberg

Thomas M. Vandenberg, 76, of Rhinelander, died on March 25, 2026 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1949 in Little Chute, the son of Elmer and Agnes (Vandenbogard) Vandenberg. After his schooling Tom served with the U.S. Naval Reserve in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where he received his degree in Pharmacy in 1974. 

On September 9, 1977 he married the former Yvonne Petit in Appleton. The Lord blessed them with nearly 50 years of marriage. After their marriage they moved to Rhinelander where Tom was employed as a Pharmacist at Taeges, then Snyders and finally Shopko before retiring in 2010. 

In his spare time Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and all the different people he met while delivering their meals. 

Tom is survived by his wife Yvonne, his son Michael Vandenberg, his brothers Jerry (Tara) Vandenberg and Dennis (Sherry) Vandenberg, his nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sandy Kasten. 

Visitation for Tom will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 9 to 11 a.m., with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Father Chris Kemp will be officiating.
