RHS teacher Wojtusik honored with Kohl Fellowship Award

Rhinelander High School has announced that longtime Technology Education teacher Mike Wojtusik has been named a recipient of the prestigious Kohl Fellowship Award, recognizing his outstanding excellence in teaching and his lasting impact on students, staff and the broader community.

For the past 28 years, Wojtusik has been a cornerstone of the Rhinelander High School community, demonstrating unwavering dedication to student learning and innovation in education. Throughout his career, he has taught in a variety of areas within the Technology Education department, consistently evolving his instruction to meet the changing needs of students and the workforce.

Most recently, Wojtusik has played a pivotal leadership role in the development and growth of the school’s Fab Lab program. Under his guidance, the Fab Lab has become one of the premier high school programs in the state of Wisconsin. His vision and commitment have transformed the space into a dynamic, hands-on learning environment where students engage in cutting-edge design, engineering and manufacturing experiences.

Beyond the classroom, his leadership has extended into the community. The Fab Lab has become a valuable resource not only for students but also for local community members, fostering collaboration, creativity and lifelong learning opportunities. His work has strengthened connections between the school and the community, helping to prepare students for future careers while supporting regional growth and innovation.

“Mike’s passion for teaching and his commitment to providing meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students is truly exceptional,” said Shane Dornfeld, Principal of Rhinelander High School. “His leadership in our Technology Education department, especially in the Fab Lab, has elevated opportunities for our students and positioned Rhinelander High School as a leader in hands-on, career-focused education.”
