Visit Wausau has announced the hiring of Rhinelander native Jamie Rice-Heckendorf as its new director of operations and integrator, effective March 23.
Rice-Heckendorf joins the organization with a background in operational leadership, program coordination, and community engagement. In her new role, she will oversee day-to-day operations, financial processes, and organizational systems while supporting Visit Wausau’s mission to promote the greater Wausau area as “Wisconsin’s Basecamp.”
She succeeds Jodi Maguire, who previously served in the role.
“Jamie brings the kind of structured operational mindset and collaborative approach that strengthens how we serve our communities and partners,” said Tim White, executive director of Visit Wausau. “Her experience in building efficient systems, managing financial processes, and supporting large-scale initiatives will help us continue to grow and operate at a high level.”
Rice-Heckendorf’s experience includes developing workflows that improve efficiency, managing detailed reporting systems, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and accountability. Her skill set supports Visit Wausau’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, streamline municipal reporting, and strengthen partnerships across Marathon County.
Visit Wausau promotes tourism, economic development, and community vitality by positioning the region as a hub for outdoor recreation, events, and cultural experiences.
