Christopher Scott Stanfield, 58, of Rhinelander, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday evening, March 31, 2026.
Chris was born in Colorado on August 18, 1967, to Fred I. and Peggy E. (Simmons) Stanfield. His family lived in Colorado till he was 5 years old. At this time, the family moved to Rhinelander. When Chris was entering his senior year in high school, he moved back to Colorado to finish his schooling, graduating in 1985. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country for four years. Chris returned to Rhinelander, where he has lived ever since. He was employed at Walmart for seventeen years and later as a taxicab driver with Northwood’s Taxi.
Chris enjoyed bowling, watching movies and T.V. shows, hunting, fishing, WWE, and was an avid Packer fan.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, helping others in need, and his optimism and positivity.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Heather Stanfield, step-son, Brendan of Crandon, one granddaughter, Melody, siblings, Brian Stanfield of Oklahoma, Carla Stanfield of Denver, Tera (Dennis) Paape of Rhinelander, Lloyd (Cheryl) Eternicka of Rhinelander, step-sister, Donna (Jerry) Skubal of Rhinelander, Wanda (Tom) Bellatini of Tomahawk, Tim (Christine) Stanfield, of Rhinelander, and step-mother, Maryann Stanfield of Rhinelander. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a niece, Renee Schramke, and a stepbrother, Raymond Eternicka.
A celebration of life for Chris will be held at a later date.
Private services will take place at the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw.
