James “Jim” R. Bixby

James “Jim” R. Bixby, 69, of Gleason, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Jim was born on April 28, 1956, in Rhinelander, to the late Richard and Geraldine (Clapper) Bixby. He graduated from Rhinelander High School and went on to enter the workforce shortly after. Jim dedicated many years of his life working as a press operator at Printpack where he remained until his retirement several years ago.

Jim found joy in the simple things in life. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and never missed a game. He enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, and fishing. Jim loved wildlife and being in nature. He was a fan of classic cars and setting off fireworks for the Fourth of July. Jim had a playful personality and was truly a kid at heart, rarely taking life too seriously. He had plenty of stories to tell and was a proud grandpa and proud father.

Survivors include his sons, Josh (Jenna) Bixby, of Tomahawk, and Adam Bixby, of Tomahawk; and his brother, Robert Bixby, of Green Bay. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Noah and Landon Bixby and his “grand dog,” Cooper. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Geraldine; and his brother, Randy.
