Barbara Ann Steinhardt

Barbara Ann Steinhardt, 83, of Rhinelander, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Seasons of Life, with family by her side. She was born on March 9, 1943 in Laona, the daughter of William and Laura (Lepscier) Yeater. She was a lifelong resident of Rhinelander. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1961. She worked at Woolworth’s until her retirement when she then cared for her grandchildren.

Barb married Dale Steinhardt on October 7, 1961 at St. Joseph's church and God blessed them with 51 years of marriage, their wonderful kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Barb spent most of her time making crafts (crocheting, sewing, knitting) with proceeds going to Orphan’s Lifeline International. Barb also enjoyed spending her time fishing, camping, playing cards, trips to Minnesota, and watching her son’s off-road racing. Barb was a devoted member of the Rhinelander Church of Christ and she found great meaning in worship, fellowship, and service, forming lasting bonds within the church community.

Barb is survived by her children Shelly Nelson, and Mark (Marjean Shoeder) Steinhardt, her grandchildren Jacob (Shannon) Nelson, Tyler (Cindy) Nelson, and Katlynn (Michael) Meister, her great-grandchildren Henry, Ava, Nora, Lyla, and Vernon Nelson, her brother Mike (Teresa) Yeater, her brother-in-law Ronny Steinhardt, nieces, nephews, and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, her son-in-law Jack, her brothers Willie and Dave, and her sisters Dorothea and Sandy.

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, April 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home.
