RHS Sports recap: Tuesday, Sept. 23

Boys’ soccer: Antigo 4, Rhinelander 1

Antigo scores three times in the final 16 minutes of regulation and defeated the Rhinelander High School boys’ soccer team 4-1 Tuesday night in GNC play at Mike Webster Stadium. 

Asher Rivord knotted the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 59th minute, but Alex Brittenham scored the game-winner in the 65th and the Robins tacked on two more goals after that. 

Shots were 27-18 in favor of Antigo. Caden Ehrhardt made eight saves in the loss. 

Rhinelander (0-9-1, 0-5-1-0 Great Northern) travels to Waupaca on Thursday.

Volleyball: Mosinee 3, Rhinelander 0

The Rhinelander High School volleyball team was swept by GNC-leading Mosine 25-11, 25-13, 25-17 Tuesday night in Mosinee. 

Olivia Ruetz led Rhineladner with five kills and added a pair of blocks, Kylie Treder had seven assists, and Kayla Skubal added seven digs to go a long with the team’s lone service ace. 

Rhinelander (1-22, 0-4 Great Northern) travels to Phillips for an invite Saturday.
