Oktoberfest returns to Three Lakes
Raise your steins and say Prost! because Oktoberfest is returning to the Northwoods!
On Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., community members, families, and tourists can experience Oktoberfest in all its beer foam and schwein roast glory in downtown Three Lakes.
Once again, Three Lakes Oktoberfest will offer a variety of food, entertainment, and vendors.
Stop by the Hollow Tree Hospitality Pig Roast on Superior Street to support the Three Lakes High School Choir. The Three Lakes Area Visitors Bureau will be serving beer, warm pretzels, and exclusive Oktoberfest merchandise — including this year’s collectible shirt and commemorative pin. Three Lakes Trails will be grilling up brats and hot dogs to keep fest-goers fueled for the fun.
Guests can browse baked goods, crafted wares, live demonstrations, and unique finds, while the downtown business community welcomes visitors all day long to the Oktoberfest Market.
The event’s live music begins at 11 a.m. with the Jim Pekol Band, performing upbeat polka music themed for the German celebration. Back by popular demand, the Pommersche Danz Gruppe from Wausau will once again entertain all ages, performing German folk dances in authentic costumes throughout the day. Wherever they appear, their performances spark joy and laughter among young and old alike!
Festival games add to the fun, starting with the “Steady Stein” competition, hosted by Downtown Three Lakes, Inc. Contestants who can hold two full steins above their shoulders the longest (while spilling the least) will win a downtown prize package. It’s only $5 to enter for the chance to earn both bragging rights and prizes.
Event attendees can also join the hidden pickle hunt inside downtown shops. Complete an entry form with the German words found on the pickles for a chance to win another great prize!
Additional games and activities will be announced soon. For full event details, visit facebook.com/oktoberfestthreelakes.
This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the Three Lakes Area Visitors Bureau. Oktoberfest will be held rain or shine!
